Just look at the young MC's!!! |
How great thou art is right. On 9/25/2010 KDLT Vol 2. had a great surprise drop by the station. Sweet LD of Oaktown 357. fame stopped by for a super dope interview. Crazy thanks to my man Ty Mac of Shabazz 3 fame & producer/recording engineer X-traordinare who mans the mixing boards at Alpha Omega Recording Studios in Ft. Worth he's the chap who brought Sweet LD to the station. LD started off as one of Mc Hammer's back up dancers back in the 80's. At some point during the journey rhymes where added & the group OaKtown 357 was formed. The group released their first album in 1989, "Oaktown's 357 Wild & Loose". There where 2 albums altogether with "Fully Loaded" the 2nd being released in 1991 . One of my favorite Oaktown songs is Yeah, Yeah, Yeah if you care. Sweet LD also got wreck on the classic "We're All In The Same Gang". With all that going for her and more I knew it was going to be a great interview. Man O Man was it. It has to be one of my favorite interviews ever & I have had a lot. She had a lot to say about the state of Hip-Hop now & back then, how we look at todays youths role in Hip-Hop & great ideals on how we should address the young people who need more positive attention & less of the critical banter. I took a lot away from the interview. It was the bomb. I've added the audio portion of the interview so you can hear how it went down. It was such a great day down at the station. Thanks again to my mellow Ty Mac & Sweet LD for blessing us at the station. Big ups to my right hand man Slago who's going to Atlanta to take part in the iStandard Producers Showcase at the A3C Festival in Atlanta, Ga. next Friday. Congratulation to him & "Bring Home The Gold"!!!!! Peace & Blessings DJ Ez Eddie D.
