This blog is about Underground Hip-Hop & what it means to me. Since 1987 I've had an underground hip-hop radio show on Knon 89.3fm in Dallas, Tx. This blog will focus on the past present & future of Hip-Hop in Dallas & in our world. Call it an archive of sorts. I will have all kinds of munchies for you to upload & listen to. I want the world to know & feel what Dallas Underground is all about. Peace & Blessings

Down By Sound
The Player that has the Down by Sound compilation is a part of Dallas history that I'm so very proud of. With the help of Dave Chaos of Knon 89.3fm & Knon itself the compilation came to life. The year is 1998 & I wanted to put together a project for Knon that we could use as pledge drive premium for the Down by Sound listening audience. The name was easy to come up with I just named it after the show, 'Down By Sound'. I think Cold Chris of I.G.P. & Mad Flava came up with the name of the show years ago. For those who don't know Down by Sound was the name of my first radio show at Knon. The station was 90.9 back then. Well once the name was choosen I then had to decide on the groups for the cd. I wanted Dallas's best & dopest wellDown By Sound what i got was much more than that...What I got was a cd that more than represented Dallas Underground Hip-Hop it represented great Underground Hip-Hop all over the world. It was as fresh as anything that was out at the time. The tracks are here to show & prove it. There are some great groups on the cd. I really want to thank all of those who helped make the cd a classic for Hip-Hop everywhere!!!! I hope you enjoy the flava. Peace & Blessings Dj Ez Eddie D
